Changing your security questions
When retirees log on to Retiree Self-Service (RSS) for the first time, they must set up their forgotten password help. This is a series of questions and answers that only the retiree might know, such as childhood nickname or first car. Forgotten password help is important in case the retiree forgets his or her password in the future.
To change your security questions
From the RSS home page, do the following:
- Click the "Change My Password" tile.
- Click "Reset Security Questions" in the RSS sidebar menu
- Enter an answer for at least five of the ten questions provided. Use the following guidelines:
- The security answers are not case sensitive, so capitalization does not matter. If you specify that you grew up on "Main Street" and then forget your password a month later, you can enter "main street" and the system will still accept it.
- Each answer must be unique.
- The answers should be something the retiree will remember.
- Click the "OK" button.
Your new security questions are now in place. All previous questions are automatically deleted.
