Changing a RSS password

Retiree Self-Service (RSS) passwords expire every 90 days, regardless of how often the retiree logs on to RSS. When an retiree's password expires, he or she will be asked to create a new password after successfully logging in.

Note: If retirees forget their password, they can reset it.

Passwords must adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Must be at least eight characters in length

  • Must contain at least one number and one letter

  • Must be different from last four passwords used for this retiree

  • May contain uppercase letters, lowercase letters, symbols and punctuation

  • Should be something the retiree will remember

Important: Passwords are case sensitive, meaning capitalization matters. If your password is "MyPassword" and you enter "mypassword" the system will not accept it.

Note: If you have not created a password before, you will need to create answers for the security questions on the "Setup Forgotten Password Help" screen that pops up.

To change your RSS password:

From the RSS home page, do the following:

  1. Click the "Change My Password" tile.

  2. Enter your current password in the "Current Password" field.

  3. Enter your new password in the "New Password" and "Confirm Password" fields.

  4. Click the "Change Password" button.

A message appears, confirming that your password has been changed successfully.
